What is GEM Antitussivum and when is it used?

GEM Antitussivum is a cough suppressant. The active ingredient dextromethorphan alleviates excessive coughing. At the recommended dosage, its effects generally last for 6 hours or more.

GEM Antitussivum is used for the treatment of cough, particularly dry, irritating cough.

What does GEM Antitussivum contain?

5 ml of syrup contains the active ingredient dextromethorphan hydrobromide 8.5 mg (equivalent to 6.25 mg dextromethorphan), sweeteners sorbitol, cyclamate, and acesulfame, flavorings including vanillin and others, preservatives methylparaben (E218) and propylparaben (E216), the colorant caramel (E150), as well as additional excipients.
