What is Alpenaflor arnica gel and when is it used?
Arnica and calendula are well-known medicinal plants that have proven effective for the external treatment of inflammation and bruises, specifically injuries without skin tears or bleeding. Arnica has anti-inflammatory properties and stimulates the healing process.
This gel, a modern galenic form, is used for sprains, strains, muscle tears, and bruising, as well as for adjunctive treatment of varicose veins and heavy legs. Additionally, due to its soothing properties, it is also used for insect bites.
What does Alpenaflor arnica gel contain?
Composition per 1 g of gel:
150 mg of ethanolic liquid extract of dried arnica flowers (DER 1:9, extraction solvent 65% V/V alcohol), 10 mg of ethanolic liquid extract of dried calendula flowers (DER 1:3, extraction solvent 24% V/V alcohol). This preparation also contains excipients.
